Terms of Service

E.D.I.T.H. ("E.D.I.T.H.", "we", "us") is a connected digital space that brings together social sharing, private conversations, an AI assistant and a personal workspace. These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and E.D.I.T.H. whenever you visit the website, create an account, or use any part of the service.

By creating an account or using E.D.I.T.H., you confirm that you have read these Terms and our Privacy Policy and agree to follow them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

You must be at least 13 years old to use E.D.I.T.H. If the law where you live sets a higher minimum age for using online services without parental consent, you must meet that age or have the permission of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

We ask for your date of birth during sign-up to apply these rules. Providing a false date of birth is a breach of these Terms.

To join, you sign in with an email address (using a one-time code or a password) or with a supported third-party sign-in such as Google. During setup you choose a username, give your date of birth and a display name, and may add a profile photo and short bio.

You agree to give accurate information, to keep it reasonably up to date, and to hold only accounts you are entitled to use. You may not create accounts in bulk, through automated means, or to get around a suspension.

Your username identifies you across E.D.I.T.H. and must be unique. Usernames may contain lowercase letters, numbers and underscores. You may not choose a username that impersonates another person, brand or organisation, that infringes someone else's rights, or that is offensive or misleading.

Your profile — display name, username, photo, bio, posts and follower counts — is visible to other signed-in members. We may reclaim or change a username that breaks these rules. Verification badges are granted only by E.D.I.T.H. staff and cannot be requested, purchased or transferred.

You can publish posts with text and media, reply to others, repost content and save bookmarks. Posts, comments, replies and reposts are shared with the E.D.I.T.H. community and can be seen, discovered through search and Explore, and interacted with by other members.

A repost shows another member's content to your followers; the original author remains its owner. If an original post is deleted, reposts of it will no longer display it.

Conversations are intended only for their participants. Do not use messages to harass, spam, threaten or share content you are not allowed to share. A participant may keep, screenshot or forward what you send, so think before sharing sensitive information. We may review messages when needed to investigate a report of serious abuse, to protect people's safety, or when required by law.

You may upload images, GIFs, videos and files within the size and format limits shown in the app. You must own the media you upload or have permission to share it. Do not upload content that contains malware or that you know to be unlawful.

Moments are short-lived posts that are shown to other members for a limited time (currently about 24 hours) before they stop appearing in the app. "Temporary" describes visibility in E.D.I.T.H., not a guarantee that no copy exists: viewers may capture a Moment while it is visible, and stored files may remain in our storage for a period after a Moment expires.

E.D.I.T.H. includes an AI assistant and AI-powered actions. To answer you, what you send to the assistant is processed by an AI model provider on our behalf. AI responses are generated automatically and can be inaccurate, incomplete or inappropriate. Do not rely on them for medical, legal, financial or other professional advice, and review AI output before acting on it or sharing it.

You may not use the AI features to create unlawful content, to harass others, to attempt to extract other people's data, or to bypass safety measures.

The Workspace lets you organise projects, tasks, notes and attachments. Workspace content is private to your account under our access controls and is not shown on your profile or in the feed. You are responsible for keeping your own copies of anything important.

Keep your sign-in methods secure. Do not share one-time codes or passwords, and tell us promptly if you suspect someone else has accessed your account. You are responsible for activity that happens through your account unless it results from our failure to take reasonable security measures.

We want E.D.I.T.H. to be a place where people can create and connect safely. You agree to use the service lawfully, to treat others with respect, and to respect the privacy and rights of other people.

You must not use E.D.I.T.H. to post, send or do any of the following:

• sexual content involving minors, or any content that exploits or endangers children;
• threats, harassment, bullying, hate speech or incitement to violence;
• sharing someone's private information or intimate images without consent;
• impersonation, fraud, scams, phishing or deceptive practices;
• spam, artificial engagement, or automated scraping or account creation;
• malware, attempts to break into accounts or systems, or interference with the service;
• content that infringes copyright, trademarks or other rights;
• promoting illegal goods, services or activities.

You keep ownership of the content you create. By posting content on E.D.I.T.H., you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, reproduce and transmit it solely to operate, provide and improve the service — for example, to show your post to members who view your profile. This licence ends when you delete the content, except where it has been shared by others or must be retained for legal reasons.

The E.D.I.T.H. name, shield logo, design and software belong to us. You may not copy or use them without our permission.

You are responsible for what you post, send and upload. We do not pre-approve content and do not endorse opinions expressed by members. If you see content that breaks these Terms, please report it so we can review it.

Profiles, posts, replies, reposts and active Moments are visible to signed-in E.D.I.T.H. members. Bookmarks, notifications, AI conversations and Workspace content are private to you. Private messages are visible to conversation participants. Some public pages of the website may be visible to visitors who are not signed in.

You can delete your own posts, comments, Moments, messages you sent, and Workspace items from within the app. You can update your profile at any time in Settings. If you want your entire account deleted, contact us and we will delete it and associated content, except information we must keep to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes or prevent abuse.

We work to keep E.D.I.T.H. available and reliable, but we provide it on an "as is" and "as available" basis. The service may be interrupted for maintenance, updates or reasons outside our control, and features may change.

Parts of E.D.I.T.H. rely on third parties, such as Google sign-in, our hosting and database provider, email delivery and AI model providers. Your use of a third-party sign-in is also subject to that provider's terms. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.

We may add, change or remove features. We may also update these Terms. If a change materially affects your rights, we will let you know in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use E.D.I.T.H. after the change means you accept the updated Terms.

You may stop using E.D.I.T.H. at any time. We may restrict, suspend or terminate an account that breaks these Terms, creates risk or legal exposure for us or others, or has been inactive for a long period. Where reasonable, we will explain why and give you a chance to respond.

To the fullest extent the law allows, E.D.I.T.H. is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, lost profits, or loss of data arising from your use of the service, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the past twelve months or USD 50. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and courts located in India have jurisdiction, except where consumer protection laws in your country give you the right to bring claims locally. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and E.D.I.T.H. about the service.
